Challenging ourselves this NZSL Week

This NZSL Week the team loved learning more about the language used by many of our kiritaki.

Our CEO Dr. Claire Green took on the Leaders' Challenge, and team members came together to learn the Pepeha Song Challenge.

At The Hearing House, we foster a community of support empowering people with hearing loss and their whānau to explore potential and make choices on their journey.

Many of our kiritaki are bilingual and use both New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and spoken language to communicate effectively.

NZSL is Essential for Deaf people in education, health, workplaces and to be able to participate equally in society, and these challenges have been a wonderful opportunity for us to develop our understanding of NZSL.
