We were thrilled to welcome Sarah Corson and Saffron Laurence-Bade from Painga Project to The Hearing House recently —this photo of us in front of our respective mobile clinics is a symbol of just how far this partnership has come!
We’ve been on this journey together since the very beginning, dreaming of a way to bring services directly to low-decile schools in South Auckland. We both envisioned mobile clinics reaching kiritaki (clients) where they are, in a way that works for them — and today, that dream has become a reality.
Painga Project champions health equity by providing free hearing and vision screening, with follow-up support for these schools. We, in partnership with the University of Auckland and community audiologists, help with the supervision for the hearing re-screening sessions and by the end of 2025, nearly 50 schools will have been screened with our advisement and support.
We’re so proud to be part of this kaupapa — where hard work, collaboration, and a shared vision truly are changing lives. 💙
