The Hearing House - enabling deaf children to speak

AudiologyKenneth attends The Hearing House Audiology regularly to make sure that his cochlear implant is giving the best access to sound that is possible. Part of this process is ‘mapping’ the cochlear implant to tailor it to suit Kenneth’s hearing loss and needs.

Audiology

The Hearing House began an in-house Audiology service to create a one-stop-shop for families and to allow the therapist and audiologist to work together so the services complement each other. Early intervention and audiological management will assist children to make maximum use of their residual hearing, cochlear implant or hearing aid then learn to listen and speak.

The Hearing House Audiology service provides hearing testing; hearing aid services; and specialist cochlear implant services. The Hearing House Audiology suite is equipped with a large soundproof booth and up-to-date equipment. Full audiology services are available free of charge to children on The Hearing House programme. Services are also available for private cochlear implantees.
